Rough Sledding for Commercial Blogs

Valleywag has an interesting conversation about AOL's decision to shut down a number of blogs it bought from Jason Calacanis. While a few of those blogs are doing very well (e.g., Engadget, Autoblog and Joystiq) many others are not . Little doubt here at Hubbub that commerial blogs will struggle just as hard as mainstream media until there's a better way to monetize content.
